CURTAIN HEADINGS
Shown below are 5 different curtain heading:
 |
a) |
Pencil Heading: - A very simple but neat and
affective heading. Can be 3” or 6” deep with a good selection
of hook heights.
|
 |
b) |
Sewn in Pinch Pleat: - This gives a good
pleat formation and offers a more sophisticated formal look. It is
made with buckram and sewn to track or pole width plus over lap and return
allowance. This heading has the advantage of a small
stack back i.e. does not encroach onto windows when pulled
back. This can have buttons on each pleat for decoration. |
 |
c) |
Goblet Headling: - The shape is very similar to that of a wine glass and again offers a more sophisticated formal look. It is made with buckram and sewn to the track or pole
width plus overlap and return allowance. This can have buttons on the pleats and or cord tied and looped between pleats.
|
 |
d) |
Tab Top Heading: - This heading gives an informal contemporary
look. The tabs are spaced 10 - 15 cm apart and can have buttons attached at the point
of each tab. They are fitted onto poles, however on windows with a wide span they can
be difficult to draw. They also have a large stack back factor
but with only needing 50% fullness they save on fabric quantity.
|
 |
e) |
Eyelet Heading: - Can be supplied with either 25mm or 40mm diameter
eyelets in either Zinc or near Black finish. This heading also
gives an informal, contemporary look and has the advantage of operating
easily with a small stack back factor. Again this heading only needs a 50% fullness therefore saving on fabric
quantity. |

to the bottom edge of the valance. The headings can be 75mm or
150mm deep. It can be

and trim attached to the bottom edge.

 |
d) |
Tab Top: - This heading gives an informal, contempary look and is made to hang from a pole. The tabs are usually space 10-15cm apart and can have buttons attached at the point of each tab. |
 |
e) |
Box Pleat:
-This heading gives a smart, uniformed look. Fitted by velco onto a board and shown in the picture with contrast piping at the top of the pleats and a contrast border to the bottom edge. |
These can be made to suit bay or
straight windows. The MDF pelmets give a more solid/straighter appearance
than the buckram. The buckram pelmet appearance is sometimes preferable
due to the undulations. There are a multitude of shapes which can be
applied to the bottom edge of the pelmets.
There are a number of various options
which you can select depending on whether you have a bay or straight
windows.
